Best Compression Software

I was searching for some compression software... and i thought why dont look for the best one. So the journey started. After googling through few sites... here are the best one to look at..

I think Rar is better than Zip format.. and Winrar decompresses files faster than Winzip, unlike Winzip it supports both Rar & Zip format. But these are commercial software.. and why spend any money if you can get one in free... Well i am talking about 7-Zip ... It is by far better than Zip.

So, right now i am downloading "7-ZIP".................80% completed....

I was looking for Windows XP Themes....
I found FlyakiteOSX . According to the site: It will transform the look of an ordinary Windows XP+ system to resemble the look of Mac OS X. Setup was easy & smooth.. i had no problem. The effect was superb and it didn't slowed my system ( which i was expecting... ). I think it replaces many system files.. (don't worry.. its safe.. and also it keep the back up of old files.) Before installing it also create a restore point. In case you are not happy with the results of FlyakiteOSX, everything is completely removable

Help!.. Trouble with my Visual Studio.

Today.. i tried to open resource file (.rc) with my MS Visual Studio .Net 2003 . I couldn't open it. It says "A resource in this file uses an unknown language: Unknown+language: 0x39, 0x1 Unable to open this file."

I couldn't find the reason also............. DAMN... I have to make a software for my office.. well not the whole software... just a part of it...

I think i should use the external resource editor. Here is one i find interesting.....

• Integrated on Visual Studio .NET 2003
• Edit .resx and .resources files
• Explore resources in .dll and .exe files, then for example, you can open and see the icons and bitmaps of any assembly. When a DLL or EXE file is opened, the editor automatically appends the .resx extension to the file.
• Edit of bitmaps and icons using the default editors in VS.NET. (The default bitmap editor doesn't support more than 256 colors so that in these cases MS Paint is opened in order to edit the bitmap)

• You can add and delete bitmaps, icons and strings. (Bitmaps files are not locked in the file system after an add operation, try another resource editor and see if they have this feature :))

War of the World

Today! Had great day! Enjoyed the day with Prabesh.

I had lots plan today... i was planning to visit one of my fren.., cut hair. wash dress and ofcourse work on autoeverest.com But i couldn't do all those things...


After lunch...at 12 i got a call from Prabesh . He was saying hewant to meet me.. and talk business..... so i met him in Highlander Office Thamel at 1 pm. Then, we went to shivendra place.. and.. then to JAVA.. had pepsi float.. Black forest. At 5:15 we went to kumari hall for the Movie " War of the World". Actaully the show time was 6:00 ... anyway.. we manage to hangout for 45 min doing nothing...

About the Movie: It was quite scary... .. i liked it... Action, Fiction.. Great Sound... Surprises... a very good combination.

I was such scared that...i ran home soooo fast .. as if its real... as if aliens are attacking in real..... my mind was blank for quite time.. even after reaching home...

Finally ... i should say.. i had good day today!.. thanks Prabesh.

Hey!. these days i m working on a website project called autoeverest.com... well i m doing the backend & programming parts and the designing in done by my friend Rufus & Puru (called themselves as Glide & Dot International) . This is 3rd project that i m doing with them. I know them since 1999, first we met at VisitNepal, my first job ;) ... now about five years later.. we are still frens and working.. its feels good to work with old frens.. I think all the frens that i made in VisitNepal are doing great. Luxman is in Japan, married & have a very sweet baby. Shivendra works in Trancecreation.com, Prabesh is working in Autralian Project and do hosting business on the side. And me???? I am working in WholesaleNepal.com and.. also own a IT firm called unisoft.com.np ... but i haven't got time to work for myself for long time.... One of these days i will be starting to work on my own projects.

Thats it for now... have to call rufus... coz he was saying his client wants to do major changes on the site (autoeverest). Well thats what i don't like... why do ppl do that.. i mean.. once the project is 90% completed.. they come up with another idea.. and ask for modification.... But have to do anyway..
COZ.... CLIENT is BOSS :) and BOSS is ALWAYS RIGHT!

Foxpro

Last saturday i was buying WindowXP SP2 CD for a fren, i saw Microsoft Visual Foxpro 8. I bought the CD and found that it contain VFP 8 Beta version and its already expired. I googled for its crack or patches.. but couldn't find one.. then one morning.. i changed my date.. and run it.. and TADA... it worked.....

So many sunsets since last blog. ...What may be the reason???.... mmmm... Nothing has changed... probably i was tooooooo busy - had absolutely no time for recess...or... i forgot what i had promised to myself... promise to write no matter what happens.... may be that is one reason. I searched for CMS for hours and hours.. tested most of it.. on www.opensourcescms.com and on local drive...

Finally decicided there is nothing like Mambo, though its big .. there is nothing like it.

There is also a very similar Mambo like CMS ... called Limbo. Limbo is lite version of Mambo .

Birthday Gift

My Birthday is comming up.. and i already got a Gift :) Actaully she was talking about it a longtime back... Its exam season... so she hardly get time for other thing...but she didn't forgot to gift me... and i m very happy.. we went together for shopping... she had planned to give me a watch ... so she bought me a TagHaur. Wandering Round - Dangling Down

I surf internet heavily noshing eveything digitally available in so called World Wide Web. Being an IT Professional, i surf site more related with Software, Programming, Technology etc.. and sometimes about Fashion.. Architechture and Interior/Exterior Designs ... (hope you guessed my interest :) ) .. In a month, roughly i browse about 800 unique websites ....and sometimes i find good sites and sometime clumsy ones. I bookmark the links of good site using my best bookmark software, Compass. This worked well for me until now... but now i want to share my bookmarks and remarks on the sites i visited with my frens and others. There may be software for this .. but i haven't looked. I thought blogging it in this site is good idea so i created it. Wandering Round the Net, Finding new things and carefully reviewing it and remarking/jotting Down in this page. Thats what this is all about.

What A Busy Life!

Exam Day!

I am in the middle of Exam Season.... thats why also there is this gap in blogging.
Tomorrow is the final paper. Thank God! ... Now don't ask me how was ur exam coz.. i can't say.... there is one hope.... well one ..wish... or pray.. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE GOD HELP ME :) ...

But this is not new thing... usually this happens... I think .. i did great .. and it turn outs to be opposite... and when i think i didn't do well... that paper turns good... so.. i have stop answering or even thinking ... how did i do the exam. I left it in his (G!) hand.

Wow! I had completely forgotten about this site!.. i created this account on 2002 !..and after 2 yrs ..year 2005..i accidently landed here...

Hmm.. just 1 blog and that is also just a kinda promise. Well promise are meant to be broken, isn't it?? ;) This time i won't promise... As i am quite busy i cant promise anything. God!
